Voice2Rep: NGO selects top ten music finalists for 2021
Accountability Lab Nigeria, an NGO with the vision of ensuring an accountable society, has concluded its selection of finalists for the third edition of their music campaign, Voice to Represent (stylised as Voice2Rep) which provides support for aspiring young musicians willing to speak on social issues and effect positive change through music.

The selection took place on the 31st of May, 2021 in Abuja and featured an independent panel of judges which include: Grace Jerry of the Inclusive Friends Association, media personality and youth advocate Big Mo, broadcaster and entrepreneur Benjamin Ubiri, PRIMORG project coordinator Adaobi Obiabunmuo, web developer Micheal Ediale, Kiss FM journalist Yecenu Sasetu and Voice2Rep finalists Adanna “Afrolucy” Ukwa and Abah Hope “Jovanni” from the 2019 and 2020 campaign respectively; as well as representatives from TASCK and Don’t Drop The Mic entertainment.
The process began at 11:00 am and was anchored by Accountability Lab Communications lead Prince Chimaroke who welcomed the judges and coordinated the selection process. Artists who submitted their music for consideration were individually assessed on the basis of their creativity, originality, message and delivery. The 2020/2021 edition is themed “Business integrity and human rights.” and is sponsored by the Embassy of the Netherlands and Luminate group, with additional support from TASCK and Don’t Drop The Mic entertainment.

The top 10 music artists selected for the 2021 Voice2Rep campaign are: Haye Frama, Festus Okoye a.k.a. Mufo de Talker, Enoch “Young Nik” Neequaye, George Bosso a.k.a. George Boss, Gideon “Gidzeey” Attah, Abimbola “Herbeemboola” Oyewo, Ann Damar a.k.a. Annie Daymar, Ogechi “Ihcego” Iteogu, Nneka “Neky” Ngwe and Glory Oladipo a.k.a. Glowrayyyy. These selected beneficiaries will go on to be trained on music production, branding, social awareness and corporate aspects of music by industry veterans and civil society leaders.
The mission of Accountability Lab through the Voice2Rep campaign is to drive meaningful engagement to ensure positive social and economic change. One of the ways this can be achieved is translating personal integrity into broader institutional integrity. The organization is promoting ethical business practices, transparency and fair competition in the public and private sectors through youth awareness and involvement. Additionally, the campaign seeks to tackle issues of discrimination and injustice against citizens to foster an accountable, fair and egalitarian society..
